Youth Artisan Chimneyville Exhibit

  • Waller Crafts Center 950 Rice Road Ridgeland, MS, 39157 United States (map)

The Youth Artisan Exhibit at Chimneyville is a unique opportunity for talented high school students to showcase their craftsmanship in a professional and supportive environment. As part of the renowned Chimneyville Arts Festival, the Youth Artisan Exhibit allows young artists to gain visibility and recognition for their work alongside master artisans. This year's exhibit will provide a platform for students to display their handcrafted pieces, which may include any medium.

The Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi has waived all entry and judging fees. Students are only required to submit a portfolio of their work for consideration. Selected participants will have the chance to not only display their pieces but also engage with seasoned artisans, receive valuable feedback, and potentially build connections that could help them further their artistic careers.

A highlight of this year’s Youth Artisan Exhibit is the opportunity for students to witness live demonstrations from past Youth Artisans, including Nicholas Neese, a glassblowing artist who began his journey through this program. Through his demonstration, we aim to inspire the next generation of artists and show them how participation in events like this can lead to a successful career in craftsmanship.

Applications for the Youth Artisan Exhibit are now open and accessible through the school’s art teachers.
